Patients Have Power! Charity Cards
Any who knows me well can attest to my love of paper and comics. I’ve been reading and collecting comics off and on since I read Spider-Man as a child. I illustrated these charity cards for an event with the classic styling and color schemes from early comics. When researching for this project, I drew inspiration from superheroes in order emphasize to kids that they are strong and capable, just like Spider-Man or Wonder Woman.
The event was held at Mother Juice in Kendall Square, Cambridge with patient and health themed ice cream and markers that I helped. These empowering charity cards were filled out for kids in the hospital during the event. Since the ice cream event benefitted kids, the proceeds from sales were donated to Boston Children’s Hospital.
